              BLIZZARD

God thundereth marvelously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.  For He saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of His strength.

                                       Job 37:5,6

Right now I am watching God display His majesty and power through snowflakes—millions of them—as they swirl and spiral downwards through a strong wind.

A blizzard has arrived.  In my county approximately 10 to 24 inches of snow is expected to fall.

For me this has been a day of rest and recuperation.  I washed some clothes and I wrote a few letters.  I chose to stay in my cell for much of today.

With all this snow I know that the ministry group  who’s scheduled to come for tomorrow’s worship service will probably not make it.   It’s a 2 ½ hour car ride from New York City to the prison, and the roads are extremely dangerous.     Perhaps my chaplain won’t make it in, either.

So, to be safe, and to be prepared, I have spent several hours studying my Bible, just in case I may have to preach in my chaplain’s absence.

Most  of all, however, I am enjoying the beauty of this storm.
